IJP serves as a hub for lawyers, students, and community members committed to reimagining the democratic promise of the American jury. Current and future projects include:
- Researching the diversity and inclusivity of North Carolina jury pools;
- Producing expert reports and amicus briefs on patterns of discrimination;
- Creating equity-centered model jury policies for judges and lawyers;
- Advising and developing litigation tools to challenge jury discrimination;
- Organizing advocates committed to racial equity in jury formation;
- Proposing and studying reforms aimed at ending juror discrimination;
- Teaching jury education programs for students, lawyers, and judges;
- Proposing structural reforms to statutory frameworks governing jury formation;
- Engaging in scholarship addressing relevant legal doctrines.
